Tabernacle Baptist Church, Decatur, IL, has a rich heritage of
faithful men and women who love the Lord and His church. TBC was
organized January 10, 1938. The new church was constituted on January
30, 1938 with a total of 75 charter members and was officially named
Tabernacle Baptist Church. The church immediately sought affiliation
with the Illinois Baptist State Association and the Southern Baptist
Convention. During our 69 1/2 years we have had only six Pastors. At
the present time, our enrollment is approximately 1,200, our average
worship attendance is 760, and our Bible Study attendance is 520. In
2004, we moved into a completely new facility with seating for 1,200.
In addition to our blended service, we recently added a contemporary
service.
